I was thrilled to find
out that Lucky Dessert opened an outlet at Tsim Sha Tsui (and upon
touching down, they have one at Vivo too!). The elderly man was standing
by the roadside giving out promotional flyers
for them and was kind enough to show us to the doorstep of the shop.
Empty.
Empty.
House Soup Dessert with Mango, Pomelo and Sago (HKD 28)
Hui Lau Shan and mango
dessert is almost as passé as wife’s biscuits from Wing Wah even though
that’s the mistake I always make out of convenience. Lucky Dessert
serves up a really generous portion of mango with
the pomolo sago and mango juice. Definitely the most generous portion
tasted around!
Glutinous rice balls with peanut
True to picture, these
chewy balls were easy to pop in the mouth and not too sweet! Limited
stomach space is always the main grouse.
Lucky Special Drink (HKD 30)
Strawberry, Mango, Watermelon
Strawberry, Mango, Watermelon
Nothing too special here in this supposed detox drink.
On a chilly night where
everyone else indulged in warm desserts, I chose to go with the cold.
Known for value for money desserts, I second that ten times over. Go for
their famous durian mochi – especially so,
coming from a non-durian fan.
