Superstar Seafood Revisited @ Tsim Sha Tsui Mansion, Hongkong

Dimsum at Majestic Seafood was purely out of convenience. As usual, the place was full of likeminded folk.

nuts

Fried white fish and nuts actually go better than anchovies.

cute dimsum

Steamed Dumpling Combination (HKD 38)

Just for going gaga over, these were a series of dumplings with seafood fillings and are perfect for drawing kids to the dimsum table.

pau

Steamed Chicken and Mushroom Bun with Pumpkin (HKD 24)

I felt bad eating it though it was no hello kitty. This potato chicken bun was all of ordinary and hardly a showcase of a chef's artistry.

lor mai gai

Mini Glutinous Rice in Lotus Leaf (HKD 20)

Glutinous rice always makes me feel greedy, soft glutinous rice meats tasty chicken and mushroom fillings.

rice roll

Deep Fried Dough Stick Coated Rice Roll (HKD 18)

These were too doughy - yes, for once I do not love its density. The contrast then was too stark with the soft rice roll and hard fried dough stick.

buns

BBQ Pork Buns with Honey

These char siew paus that looked shinier than normal.

char siew bao

It is understandable why the skin was modelled after a mantou - so as to hold up the watery and sweet fillings.

chicken feet

Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce

Skipped this.

veg

Boiled Vegetable

Surprisingly this overload of coarsely chopped garlic made the dish fragrant and I did not mind it too much. Possibly the best of the meal.

Superstar is once again hit and miss, mediocre dimsum at great brunch prices.
